Meinl Sonic Energy Sensory Handpans are elaborately handmade one at a time. The sound is pleasing, soothing, and relaxing and can be used in various settings both for performance and therapy. Stainless steel handpans are easy to play, have a long sustain, and have an extensive dynamic range. Each one is tuned with one center note and additional notes around, allowing the player to work within a musical scale both as a solo instrumentalist and a group. These handpans include two soundholes: One which faces the player and one which faces the audience.

The D Kurd 9 and 10 models feature 7 harmonic tones (some repeated in different octaves), leading to more melodic possibilities, while the D Amara features 6 harmonic tones (some repeated in different octaves) making it a better scale for beginners.
