The bamboo drone flute by La Rosa Flutes in Perú is a professional quality instrument with an incredible resonance. Simply playing both barrels of the flute with minimal fingering knowledge will empower the player to create a huge sound ideal for taking the listeners on a fantastic journey. Combining ease of creating sound (simply blow into the mouthpiece) with a simple 5-hole fingering system which renders a minor pentatonic scale, the bamboo drone flute is a marvel of an instrument.

Beyond the simple scale, there are a number of techniques available such as trills, flutters, and rhythms which give the flute an incredibly dynamic range of effects, all of which can be used on either barrel one at a time, or with both being played simultaneously to a get a multiphonic effect.

The barrel without holes on the bamboo drone flute holds a single consistent tone, either A or B, depending which model you play, which is known as the drone. The barrel with the holes on it plays a minor pentatonic scale in the same key as the drone, making every note play in perfect harmony with the drone.
