Description

The Hamgam is a tunable wooden drum with 7 wooden playing surfaces and 2 click-sound surfaces that is laid out like a handpan. The Hamgam brings something unique to any jam session, and its sound can be likened to African drums, bongos and cajons, yet with its own unique layout and potential.

Based on the concept of a handpan (hang drum), the Hamgam is entirely made of wood instead of metal. It offers 7 playing surfaces to the player, which can be tuned using sliding magnets. Thus the instrument features a broad range of sound variations and an enormous potential of possibilities. The Hamgam is 100% hand made by Majid Drums in Germany.

The Hamgam was featured in our pan drum showcase video:

Setup:
The Hamgam consists of a wooden body and seven playing surfaces made from wood composites with a total thickness of 1mm. The biggest surface in the middle of the body features the bass sound, while another surface on the side of the corpus offers you a snare. The snares are tightened with a nut that can easily be reached from the soundhole of the body, and can therefore be removed without any difficulty.

Six of the seven playing surfaces can be tuned by a magnetic system, with the snare drum being the only exception. Additionally, two Kaskaritas (click-surfaces) are mounted to the body.

Soft carrying bag included
The Hamgam comes with a soft carrying bag made by Evatek, the premier pan drum case maker world wide. Backpack straps included. Lined with protective foam, great for day travel. This is not a hard case for checking in on an airplane.
